2013 Poetry Slam

April is National Poetry Month. The 2012 Poetry Slam received quite a bit of attention, so I decided to take 2013 a bit further. What I'm thinking is that I know a whole lot of poets who are not members of the Kindle All-Stars. (2012 was open only to KAS.)

Submission guidelines for 2012 were simple:  I invited every KAS member who wanted to participate to send me a poem or two, a short bio, and a website link. Easy peasy.

I'd like to keep 2013 just as simple. Sooo, if you've got a poem you'd like to share with my adoring public, send it to me, along with a short bio and your blog or website address. (If you'd like your twitter handle on there, include that too.) My email is KindleAllStars@gmail.com. Use the heading 2013 Poetry. You are also encouraged to include a photo of some sort, whether it's a picture of you, your avatar, or your back yard, so long as you own the rights to the photo.

A few rules:
-- The poem must be your original work and you must be the copyright owner. That means, if the poem has been published elsewhere you, not the publisher, must still be the owner of the rights to it.
-- The writer of the poem retains all rights to his/her work. I make no claims.
-- You will not be paid, nor will I.
-- If I turn down your poem, you are welcome to submit another, but not a revised version of the same one.
-- All fonts will be changed to my blog font (Georgia), so it doesn't matter what font you use.
-- Send them in a Word document (.doc or .docx), not in the email.
-- Blogger doesn't like freaky spacing, so keep it traditional. If your poem is sent with text centered, it will be posted with text centered.
-- After I program your post, I will email you with the date. Your post will automatically appear at 8:00 a.m. GMT on that date.
-- If room permits, and you've already had a poem accepted, I will consider a second submission.

There are currently 20 openings.

Once all the openings are filled, this page will be removed. If you return and this page is gone, don't bother sending your poem. It will be rejected.

I think that covers everything. However, if you have any questions, post them in the comments section below. Do not email me. There is a method to that madness:  I want everyone to be able to take advantage of the Q&A.
