Azriel

May 1997-October 2010
She clings
As though there is nothing more
No hereafter
No white light
I know
In my heart of hearts
Her soul lives
Beyond this life
Travel on old friend
I grieve
And in my grief find strength
To persevere
To live well

  2. So sad. I know the loss of a cat is really hard. :(

  3. Thanks ladies. She was old and had been through a lot including being passed from one roommate to another (I was the fifth person she owned), one who was abusive. I knew she wouldn't make it to the end of the year. Still, I met her the day the first roomie took her home and I miss her.

  4. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a furbaby named Apollo (he's a tabby), and I just love him so much. I dread the day that he's not around anymore. Hopefully that'll be a good long time (he's 6), but I know there's no guarantee. Hugs!

  5. Thanks "Mom." The adjustment has been more strange than sad. This is the first time I've been without a cat in 15 years. I may eventually rescue another, but it's doubtful since I'm allergic and have allergy induced asthma. Still, the odd part is that every time I hear a noise on the back porch (which is quite often) I reflexively think I need to go check on her. When each of my other two cats died (I really hate the term "passed away") there was another for me to take care of. My friend's cat seems to like me a bit more these days, so he (the cat) checks in on me daily and really seems to like the attention he gets when he does.

  6. It's hard losing your babies like that. I've had to put two of my Jack Russells down. I had both since they were 8 weeks old. Now I have their son because my best friend had a massive heart attack and died. I am not looking forward to the day he leaves me. Huge hugs to you. xoxo

  7. Thanks.... Like I said earlier, my friend's cat kinda' helps to fill the void, but he's gotten so old he won't let anyone pick him up. I need a new big fat kitty who likes to snuggle.

My condolences on the loss of your friend.... I think friends are the toughest loss of all. Hugs back.
